Gravity acceleration is too high?

Post by rishflab »

Hi All

I have a dynamic body with a 1 unit radius circle shape attached to it. My screen is 18 units tall and 32 units wide.
If I have the gravity set a anything higher than -0.0001f the circle shape falls almost instantly right through a 1m thick segment shape and way off the screen.. My timestep is 20ms. I have no idea why the gravity acceleration is so high? Is chipmunk acceleration units/timestep^2 or units/second^2 ?

dw about this thread.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I thought timestep for cpSpaceStep(cpSpace* space, cpFloat timestep) was measured in milliseconds when it is actually measured in seconds.
