Still not sure what you mean by the collisions having too much energy. Can you be more specific? Do objects bounce when they shouldn't? Do they go spinning out of control?

You could set the position/rotation to the lowest pixel so it's flatened out.
But I personally think the rotations and "imperfection" has a cool look to it. I could be crazy, though.
