Hi Scott,

do you plan to switch from svn to git in the near future?

It would be easier to use chipmunk as a submodule and also to create forks with changes for our different projects.

I've thought about it. I don't particularly care between Git and Subversion, but GitHub is certainly a killer feature for Git. I might try making a GitHub project once I get 5.3.3 out and start on 6.

Yep GitHub is cool ;)

Just in case, here is a little script helping you to move all you svn stuff to git:
https://github.com/nirvdrum/svn2git
It also takes care of tags and branches.

With your new forum and homepage (I really like the new design) I hope you will find the time to move to git. The more I use git the less I like svn :)

Git would make it much easier for us to handle our code changes in chipmunk.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that the other day. GitHub seems like it's the killer feature for Git, but I really really dislike the Git command line tools. It seems like they went out of their way to invent new terminology for things that already had well established names and the docs assume that you already speak Git.

Really I just need to take the time to figure out how to move it all over. I'm sure I spend minutes per week interacting with either so it doesn't really matter what I'm using as long as it's not CVS. :p Now that Git has decent Windows support, I'm sure it would be more helpful to my users to just switch to Git.

Ok, so I made a duplicate project at GitHub. I'll try using it as the main repository for a couple weeks and see if I can get over my dislike of Git. :p

Great to hear that!

I disliked Git, too. Now I hate svn...
