How to simulate soft blocks in chipmunk

Post by digitalghost »

Hey,Guys:
I just want to "simulate" a soften block(brick) in my game, to make my blocks unstable when they stacked .

through this link:
http://www.emanueleferonato.com/2008/07 ... destroyer/

you can see in the demo ,the blocks are very soft, when something drops on block , the block will compressed and bounce back.

How to implement this behavior in chipmunk?

Thx

Hmm. That looks exactly the same as a homebrew game for the DS made with Chipmunk. (BrixDS) It looks to me that the "bouncyness" is just due to a low quality physics solution. It's simple and easy on the CPU to do the same with Chipmunk, just lower the number of iterations the space uses to solve for the solution.
