constraints stable?

Hey,
Congratulations on an excellent physics library. I come from a plasma simulation background but was looking for a fast mechanics library and this is really really good...
A few questions:
I am most interested in the constraints stuff that's in the trunk. Is there some roadmap available for chipmunk? An expected date of release? If not would you know if the interface is likely to change or can one start playing with it?
Also a more physics question;) Didn't dig through the sources but what kind of solver do you use? Is it energy conserving?
