Air Hockey Style Physics

I am a bit new to Chipmunk Physics (and to physics engines in general). I'm looking for some advice about settings for the space, body, and shape to create something similar to air hockey / shuffleboard. In short - this will be 'flat' (more of a table top approach rather than multi-dimensional gravity). In addition, I need the objects to be able to slow down over time and then stop completely (I've been able to get it slow down almost completely - but not stop completely).
Thoughts? I'm not looking for code - just suggestions around settings for the space, body, and shape.
